Two of Victoria’s most notorious killers pummelled each other in a Barwon Prison punch-on dubbed as “The Thriller in the Chiller” — but neither inmate is likely to face new charges.

Hated murderers Adrian Ernest Bayley and Steven James Hunter will not face criminal charges over a brutal jailhouse stoush.
The pair, who fought viciously inside Barwon Prison in May, have told police they do not want to take the matter further.
Detectives were called in after the pair traded blows for up to three minutes.
“The matter was investigated by police however neither party wished to pursue the matter,” a Victoria Police spokesman said.
It is now possible both men will face internal sanctions such as loss of privileges as a result of the confrontation, described by one source as the “Thriller in the Chiller”
Authorities at the maximum security jail, near Geelong, have kept rapist Bayley and Hunter separated from one another since the fracas.
The 47-year-old Bayley, who is seven years younger than Hunter, is said to have had the edge in the battle of the predators.
The men, known for their extreme violence against women, are housed for their own safety in protection areas because they are considered vulnerable to attack by mainstream jailbirds.
Bayley, the killer of Jill Meagher, is particularly at peril because he murdered her while on parole in 2012.
That helped lead to restrictions on early release which have meant many others in the prison system have had to serve years more time.
Hunter is locked up for the murder of Sarah Cafferkey at Bacchus Marsh in 2012.
Ms Cafferkey was the second woman he had killed.

In 1986, he fatally stabbed 18-year-old supermarket co-worker Jacqueline Mathews after she rejected his sexual advances.
It is not uncommon for prisoners to not want to provide statements to police over behind bars violence.
They are aware of the risks of attack to those who co-operate with authorities.
In 2014, influential drug boss Tony Mokbel allegedly assaulted another Barwon inmate.
That prisoner carefully considered his options before making a statement of no complaint.
