It has been two long years for Oliver Hanson but he will now get his opporunity for revenge

“Are you ready to go again?”Those are the words Oliver Hanson would ask Quinton Smith if he was standing in front of him.

“Are you ready to go again?”

Those are the words Oliver Hanson would ask Quinton Smith if he was standing in front of him.

The two North Queensland prospect will go head-to-head for the second time on March 29 at Explosive Fight Promotions Cage night at Fred Moule Pavillion.

It is the first time Hanson will get the chance to return some ‘much needed payback’ after he went down by a unanimous decision to Smith.

The 25-year-old, who has 39 fights under his belt now said a lot has changed.

“I changed gyms from where I was two years ago, gotten stronger, hungrier,” Hanson said.

“He (Smith) busted me up when we last fought so pretty keen to get some redemption back this time.

“I want to put on a great show for the crowd and for Chris Bowtell as well.

“But I want to be walking out of there a winner and making sure he (Smith) knows it as well.”

The last time these two went head-to-head was in March 2023 at the 4-man King of the North event held at Brothers Leagues Club.

Hanson, Smith, Ryan McDonald from DF Gym and Tyson Faulkner from Muscle Muay Thai were the four to compete.

Smith won his first fight by unanimous decision defeating Faulkner in three rounds while Hanson kept his composure to defeat the more experienced fighter in McDonald by unanimous decision.

“The fight camp has been awesome,” Hanson said.

“We have a game plan of how we are going to attack this fight with him (Smith).

“If I was standing in front of him right now I would probably say ‘Are you ready to go again mate?

“Actually I wouldn’t even say mate, just you sure you are ready to go again?”

Smith was reached out to for comment but is currently in Thailand preparing for a fight.
