Two seasoned performers are bringing their multi-artist tribute show to Cairns for one night only of hits and nostalgia.
The Engelbert Humperdinck, Tom Jones, Dolly Parton Tribute Variety Show will be brought to life by performers Lisa Stewart and Raff De on Friday, May 23, but those aren’t the only artists that will be featured.
The show will also include hits from a variety of other stars, including the Beatles, Johnny Cash and Neil Diamond, as well as some famous duets and original songs.
The pair will be supported by the Cairns-based SwingRays dancers and a band of local musicians, accompanied by drummer by Les Woodford, who has performed with Frank Sinatra.
Taking place at the Cairns Performing Arts Centre, it will be the first show on a tour for Ms Stewart and Mr De, which includes South East Queensland and Adelaide.
The pair, who are based on the Gold Coast, are each accomplished in their own right.
Ms Stewart has travelled the world performing and Mr De is a performer and songwriter who wrote the club song for football team Adelaide United and the Tour Down Under cycling race.
Mr De has never performed in Cairns and said he was excited to perform somewhere so “laid back”.
“It’s a great show for people that love the theatre and want to have a great time,” he said.
Mr De said he was inspired to do the show by his father, who he recently lost.
“I really wanted to do something special for him,” he said.
