Police have charged two men with grievous bodily harm over an alleged bashing outside a Gold Coast graveyard.
Officers said a man was left with a “significant head injury” after an altercation involving four people at Mylor St outside Nerang Cemetery at about 2pm last Thursday.
A spokesperson for Queensland Ambulance Service last week said the 49-year-old Nerang man was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.
A woman claiming to be a sister of the man later shared a photograph of him lying in his hospital bed on social media.
Police issued an appeal for witnesses to the incident and on Tuesday arrested two men, aged 51 and 38, who are both also from Nerang.
They have both been charged with one count each of grievous bodily harm and are expected to appear at Southport Magistrates Court on December 12.
