Sudden death at Varsity Lakes; ambulance called for man in his 20s

A report is being made for the Coroner following the sudden death of a man at a Varsity Lakes address.

An ambulance was called to Main Street, Varsity Lakes around 6.52am on Sunday after a man in his twenties was involved in a post-immersion or post-drowning event.

He was not transported to hospital.

Police have confirmed there was a sudden death at the street.

A police spokesman said the death is not being treated as suspicious and may have been related to misadventure or a medical incident.

A report is being prepared for the coroner.

The news comes after two dead bodies were found within 24 hours of each other on the Gold Coast over the weekend.

A body was found at Echo Beach in the early hours of Saturday morning with another being found at Palm Beach on Sunday.

Both were believed to be non-suspicious.
