Woman, 90, struck by ute while crossing road at Labrador taken to Gold Coast University Hospital serious but stable condition

A pedestrian, 90, has suffered serious head and chest injuries after she was struck by a ute while crossing a Gold Coast street.

AN ELDERLY woman has suffered serious head and chest injuries after she was struck by a ute while crossing a street on the Gold Coast.

Gold Coast police have been investigating the “serious traffic incident” involving the 90-year-old woman at the intersection of Broad St and Muir St at Labrador about 5pm on Sunday.

The woman was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious but stable condition, bleeding from the head and mouth, a Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson said.

The 62-year-old man driving the ute was not physically injured, a police spokeswoman said.

Police investigations were ongoing on Monday morning.

The traffic incident was one of two similar incidents on the Coast on Sunday night.

A woman was hit by a car on the Gold Coast Highway at Miami.

She was taken to hospital suffering from a soft tissue injury to her head.

Man pulled from car after Coast rollover crash

October 10: Paramedics have treated a man who was pulled from his car after a rollover crash at Southport on Sunday afternoon.

Queensland Police Service was called to Ridgeway Ave at Southport after a man hit a wall and rolled his car just before 3:55pm, a spokesperson said.

Members of the public helped pull the man from the car.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services also attended the Southport crash.

Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics reported the man was in a stable condition.

Hikers taken to hospital after Coast hinterland fall

Earlier: A pair of hikers have fallen at least three metres from a ledge while visiting a popular walking track at the Gold Coast hinterland.

Emergency services were called to the Witches Fall track off Main Western Road, Tamborine Mountain about 12.40pm Sunday afternoon.

A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said a man and woman, both in their 50s, had fallen down an embankment after losing their footing on a ledge.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services crews assisted with the extrication but at the time reported delays due to difficult terrain.

The male patient sustained injuries to his shoulder and legs while the woman also suffered injuries to her legs.

Both were taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

Six injured in crash at Coast intersection

October 3: Emergency services are on the scene of a two car crash on the Gold Coast that resulted in six people being hospitalised.

Paramedics checked eight people from the crash that occurred on the Gold Coast Highway at the intersection of Elkhorn Ave and Ferny Ave.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson said six of the people were sent to Gold Coast University Hospital with minor injuries.

The incident at the Surfers Paradise intersection happened just before 6am on Sunday.

A Queensland Police spokesperson said offices are directing traffic at the scene after a car involved in the crash rolled.
