While some beaches may be closed for the school holidays, this Gold Coast mum says she will be eggs-hausted from making it to all the other activities featured across the city.

The Gold Coast City Council (GCCC) are continuing the ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred recovery work to open majority of the beaches before the school holidays.

However, if they do remain closed, the Gold Coast remains open with businesses across the city pulling out all the stops for the hoppiest time of the year.

Gold Coast mum Brooke Fulton said had a busy schedule during the school holidays including a trip to see Snow White at the cinemas, experience the new Astra Lumina attraction at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary and revisiting the Dig It at Thunderbird Park.

The Tamborine Mountain adventure-filled park opened Dig It last year, where kids can operate real (child-sized) construction machinery.

Thunderbird Park owners Kate Keegan and Sam Maccoll said they were expecting a school holiday rush and were “egg-cited to welcome the Easter bunny”.

“Seeing kids’ faces light up when they walk through the gates every day, put their gear on and them jump into the driver’s seat and get to control a real digger for the first time, is priceless,” they said.

“Parents are always telling us it’s a standout experience for their kids.”

Between April 5 and 21, Dig It will be holding egg hunts, special Easter activities and more.

Ms Fulton said she took her two children, Kenya, 7 and Kaiser, 6, to Dig It to do something “different than the usual holiday activity”.

“We decided to go and so glad we did. It was amazing.”

Harbour Town will also feature face painting and bubble art from April 7 to 9, a magician from April 10 to 12 and even Easter bunny photos from April 14 to 17 and 19.
