Thousands of music lovers flocked to Broadwater Parklands over the weekend to soak up the sounds of an international electronic music festival.

Ultra Beach Gold Coast returned to the coast for the second year in a row on Friday, April 11 with the festival gates opening at 1.45pm for 11,000 patrons

Festival goers were singing the event’s praises online, with social media comments describing it as “the best” and “such a good night.”

“Crazy atmosphere,” one Instagram comment said. “Probably the best day in my life.”

Festival promoter Travis Grech said the event was extremely successful.

“With festivals cancelling around us, it’s incredible to put together not just a safe event but an event that fans loved, international DJs from all over the world played and put the Gold Coast on the world side map in electronic music,” he said.

The festival line-up boasted international acts including Dutch DJ Martin Garrix, Norway duo Sub Zero Project and Swedish DJ Axwell.

On Instagram, Dutch duo Blasterjaxx commented that they “loved every second” on the coast and Martin Garrix sharing on his story that he loved Australia.

“Thank you for making me feel at home very far away from home,” he shared to his 15.4 million followers.

Ultra Beach Gold Coast served as the warm-up for the international acts before they travelled south for Ultra Australia in Melbourne on April 12.

The electronic festival has been a popular event on the Coast with tickets selling out at last year’s Ultra Beach Gold Coast.

Mr Grech said that the festival would love to come back to the Gold Coast.

“We will continue to work with Experience Gold Coast and seek assistance from Tourism Gold Coast to maintain that Ultra Beach stays in Queensland for years to come,” he said.
