Pair wanted over smash and grab spree across Northern Gold Coast

Masked thieves on an hours long spree have smashed their way into four Gold Coast restaurants and left a trail of destruction in their path.
The two offenders, wearing gloves and face coverings, were captured on CCTV using a tool to smash the glass windows of an Indian restaurant on Reserve Rd, Upper Coomera about 12am on Tuesday, January 7.
Once inside, a Queensland Police Service spokesman (QPS) said the pair damaged a fridge and a dining table before leaving empty-handed. On the same morning at 3.20 the offenders were again captured on CCTV smashing through the front glass door of Cafe Two on Rose Valley Dr, Upper Coomera. According to the QPS spokesman the pair checked the cash register for money and grabbed a soft drink from the fridge then left.
About 10 minutes later, they appeared on CCTV again at Oxenford, where they used a tool to smash their way into the Sushi Train on Cottonwood Place. They grabbed the till and a tablet – discarding them on the ground as they left the business.
Half an hour later, at 4am, the duo were then seen kicking through the front doors of a Subway restaurant on Eggersdorf Dr, Ormeau. They attempted to open the safe and when unsuccessful they grabbed an empty cash register and took it with them.
The QPS spokesman said in all four break and enters the offenders were captured travelling in a silver Ford Falcon sedan with false registration plates. It’s unknown at this stage what direction the vehicle was travelling in.
