Hoon shocks Coast residents

Police are appealing for witnesses in the wake of a daring smash-and-grab at a Gold Coast business overnight in which a haul of e-scooters were reported stolen. 

It is alleged two males attended Bundall Road’s Crooze Electric store at Bundall just before 3.30am Wednesday morning.

The pair allegedly reversed a white vehicle into the front door of the shop, breaking through a security door and steel doors to gain entry.

A total five scooters were taken from the store, which also stocks electronic bikes and skateboards.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen the vehicle or the men acting suspiciously in the area around the time of the incident.

Men injured in alcohol-fuelled brawl

A MAN was taken to hospital with injuries to his neck, chest and head after a night out turned ugly in Biggera Waters.

Emergency services were called to the alleged assault near Oxley Dr and Brisbane Rd about 10.30pm Friday.

Police said two men were involved in a punch up after drinking alcohol.

A man in his 50s was taken stable to Gold Coast University Hospital, while another man in his 30s with injuries to his face did not require treatment.

In a separate unrelated matter, a man was taken to GCUH in a stable condition with a head injury after an alleged wounding at a private residence about 7.17pm Friday.

Woman injured in suspicious circumstances - December 15

EMERGENCY crews have swarmed on a Gold Coast apartment block after a woman was injured in suspicious circumstances.

Queensland Police and paramedics were called to the Meriton Suites at Como St, Southport just after 5pm Saturday.

A Police spokesman said two units responded to initial reports of a person who had collapsed.

Up to five Queensland Ambulance crews are also in attendance.

A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said one patient - a woman - was expected to be taken to hospital.

Detectives are currently investigating.

Man alleged to be Mongols bikie tasered during run-in with cops

A MAN allegedly linked to the Mongols bikie gang was tasered overnight during a run-in with police after a group was evicted from a Gold Coast venue.

Police say a group of seven men with alleged ties to the gang were told to leave a Broadbeach licensed premises on Thursday night.

They were given a move on direction, police say, and a short time later a group of five became involved in an altercation with officers, during which one person was tasered.

Police say one man allegedly kicked an officer during the incident.

Police allege three members of the Mongols and two associates were involved.

They have each been charged with different offences including disorderly on licensed premises, assault police, obstruct police, serious assault of police.

November 17: Police have arrested a man after Gold Coast residents were left stunned by a hoon’s shocking act on a suburban street.

A video shared online shows residents of Greenacre Dr, Arundel standing on their lawns as a hoon does a burnout on the street.

It’s understood the incident happened about 10.45pm on Tuesday.

Police said a 47-year-old man had been arrested in relation to the incident.

A Greenacre Dr resident, who asked not to be named, said speeding was common in the area.

She said hoons were not deterred by a speed check sign the council had placed at the entrance of Arundel Springs.

“We have a lot of speeding cars coming in and out of Arundel Springs,” the resident said.

“(The hoons) speed in Greenacre between Napper Rd and the Arundel Springs entrance.”

Aftermath of car crashing into Gold Coast house

November 16: The ruins from a car crashing into a house on the Gold Coast have been captured by its stunned owners.

The video that was uploaded to a community group showed a pile of bricks that had been smashed to the ground following a car crashing into a house on Tahiti Ave, Palm Beach.

The incident occurred about midday on Tuesday.

Local resident Tarnee Marino said: “I wasn’t there, but my parents were. My mum and my niece were in the pool when it happened.

“My mum said if it had happened five minutes earlier when they were walking home they could’ve died.

“This guy came from the roundabout and was hooning and lost control and smashed into my house.”

No one was injured from the crash, a Queensland Ambulance spokesperson said.

A Queensland Police spokesperson said they are yet to receive any information about the incident.

Man in 70s ‘kicked in chest by horse’ at racetrack

November 15: Paramedics have taken a man aged in his 70s to hospital after he was kicked in the chest by a horse at Gold Coast Turf Club, according to Queensland Ambulance Service.

It comes after paramedics were called to two separate crashes which resulted in six people being taken to hospital on Sunday night.

Ambulance paramedics were called to a location off Ken Russell Court at Bundall just before 5.30am on Monday.

Paramedics treated the man wand he was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition, suffering from chest pain, it was stated.

However, Turf Club chairman Brett Cook said he believed the man was instead “dragged” by the horse and “hit his head”.

He said the man was taken to the hospital to be checked and was eventually “released without any drama”.

On Sunday, paramedics were called to a single-vehicle rollover crash on Markeri St at Mermaid Waters about 7.55pm.

Three men in their 20s were taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition, suffering from minor injuries.

Earlier that night, about 7.10pm, paramedics were called to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Anne St and Minnie St.

They took a man and woman in their 60s and a woman in her 20s to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition, suffering undisclosed injuries.
