The founders of the GC’s biggest celebration of swimwear fashion have made the bold declaration: “We’re bringing Miami Swim Week to the Gold Coast”.

The second annual Gold Coast Swim Week will shine the spotlight on the Glitter Strip

as a fashion mecca, with a nod to the Miami showcase which is regarded as the premier event of its type in the world.

This year’s Coast spectacular will celebrate local talent and draw in swimwear designers from Paris, New York, Bali and across Australia.

Founders Georgia Phillips and Jasmine Jenner said they were proud to see the event connecting globally.

“Myself and Georgia have worked together for about six years and I said lets do Swim Week in Australia,” Ms Jenner said.

Ms Phillips said the duo thought the Gold Coast would make for the perfect fit for the event.

“It’s something that hadn’t been done here before – so bringing that over here was something that was needed,” she said.

“We’ve had so much support from everyone in the community, we have a community of models, creatives – everyone’s been jumping on board.”

This year’s event features more than 100 local models, offering a springboard for undiscovered talent.

Gold Coast Swim Week runs across venues Cali Beach Club, The Yot Club, Surfers Pavilion, The Yot Deck, and Mantra on View from November 8 to 16.
