A MELBOURNE developer has plans to build a $73 million, 30-storey tower opposite a state school.

Little Projects, headed by former Toll Holdings boss Paul Little, wants to build the residential high-rise on Broadbeach’s Mary Ave near Broadbeach State School.

The tower will feature 29 full-floor and double-storey apartments, costing $2m-7.75m each.

  • Little Projects director Leighton Pyke said the tower would be at odds with the high-density buildings of Broadbeach.

“We made a conscious decision to change course from the high-density projects prominent on the coast, instead conceiving an expansive full-floor collection that offers a middle ground in spacious living for the discerning downsizer,” he said.

“We put a lot of thought and energy into this project, which will have panoramic ocean views that can be witnessed from podium to penthouse, with never-to-be built-out vistas as a result of the development’s positioning behind Broadbeach State School.”

It is Little Project’s second Gold Coast project following the under-construction Signature Broadbeach on nearby Philip Ave.

The 245-unit project, first proposed in 2017, sold out entirely and is due to be completed in 2022.
