A Gold Coast family has been left “shaken” after thieves stole their luxury car and returned just moments later to steal another.

The cruel double-blow was caught on CCTV.

A group of people can be seen in the footage driving off in one car, only to return in the stolen car and steal the other parked on the opposite side of the road.

Those involved are still on the run and both cars have not been found.

Archis Lokhandwala and his family were in the process of moving homes in Santa Cruz Blvd, Clear Island Waters when the thieves stole their Lexus NX200t early Sunday.

“They realised there was an extra set of keys for a Nissan and they came back for it,” Mr Lokhandwala said.

“It has shaken me and my wife quite a lot - especially my wife.

“We have not been able to send our son to school.”

A police spokeswoman said they were investigating the theft of a white 2013 Nissan Pulsar and a silver 2019 Lexus, stolen between 10pm on July 16 and 8am on July 17.

“The Lexus had been left unlocked and contained sets of car keys to both vehicles, as well as a large quantity of property and luggage,” she said.

Anyone with information should phone Policelink on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
