Multiple emergency services crews have responded to a car that crashed into a building at a busy Gold Coast retail hub.

A Queensland Fire Department spokesman said the incident was reported just after 11am on Wednesday at the Central Park Plaza shopping centre off Central Park Ave, Ashmore.

It’s understood the vehicle crashed into the entrance of a pharmacy.

The QFD spokesman said all of the vehicles occupants had managed to free themselves before emergency services arrived on scene and crews assessed the damage before making the area safe.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said paramedics assessed one female patient for shock. She didn’t require transport to hospital.

The retail centre where the crash occurred is home to a number of surf shops and clothing outlets.
