Gold Coast’s global music sensation DJ Fisher is swapping the decks for a new side career as a property developer.
The prominent DJ, whose real name is Paul Fisher, has unveiled plans to build a $50m low-rise unit complex in the heart of Palm Beach, the suburb where he lives.
Teaming up with his wife Chloe through their company YLB Property Developments, DJ Fisher wants to build Pescado, a boutique eight-storey complex earmarked for a site on Jefferson Lane.
The small tower will have six full-floor units, plus a two-storey penthouse where the Fishers intend to live after Pescado – Spanish for fish – is completed.
“After weeks on the road, all I can think about is getting home, (and) that feeling of calm, of being fully present, is what we want to bring to Pescado,” Mr Fisher said.
“Palm Beach is part of my DNA, and that’s reflected in Pescado’s design, which captures the natural rhythm and energy of the coastline – it’s wavy and groovy, just like my music.
“We wanted to create a space where people can entertain, bring their friends over, and truly enjoy the coastal lifestyle.
“Pescado is not just another luxury development - it’s a deeply personal project for us (because) we’re not just building this place and moving on; this is our forever home.
“Every detail has been considered to ensure that Pescado is a special place, not just for us but for everyone who becomes part of this journey.”
But it won’t be cheap to share an address with the world-famous DJ, with unit prices starting at $5.25m
Each of the units will have three-bedrooms, with the building also carrying a range of “resort-style” facilities including a cold plunge pool and gym.
It comes just weeks out from Mr Fisher bringing his “monster” Out 2 Lunch festival back to the Gold Coast, being staged in Surfers Paradise on May 3-4.
The event, which last year brought more than 30,000 people to Coolangatta Beach, injected more than $50m into the economy.
Pescado has been designed by BDA Architects, with HNKN appointed as its building. Pezet Matheson will market the project.
Mrs Fisher said she had taken a key role in designing the interiors of the units, which she revealed took inspiration from Los Angeles and the Spanish party island of Ibiza.
“Pescado’s interiors are designed to blend elegance with comfort to ensure it feels like a home, not just a house,” she said.
“We have drawn influence from some of our favourite hotels around the world, with a strong focus on sustainability and liveability – and for me, it is all about creating a true sense of home.
“We took inspiration from our homes in LA and Ibiza, using organic textures and neutral tones, with subtle pops of sage green and blush pink to give Pescado its own personality without overpowering the coastal feel.
“Functionality has remained at the forefront of the design.
“We’ve stayed in some of the most beautiful homes around the world, and yet, often we find that the high-end design doesn’t always translate to practicality (so) we wanted to ensure that every aspect of Pescado was purposeful and considered.”.
