Dixon St, Coolangatta: Grave fears for man after single-vehicle collision with tree
A man has died after a stolen car left the road and collided with two parked vehicles and a fence. Here’s what we know so far.

A man has died after crashing a stolen Suzuki SUV into two parked vehicles and a fence at Coolangatta in the early hours of January 26 – Australia Day.
Police were called at about 4.50am to reports of a crash on Dixon St.
A Queensland Police Service spokesman said the Suzuki left the road and crashed into two parked vehicles before crashing into a fence at an address near Stapylton Street.
Upon arrival, police located three damaged vehicles.
A 28-year-old man who was the driver and sole occupant of the stolen car died at the scene.
The two other vehicles were “stationary and unoccupied,” a police spokesman said.
The Suzuki was reported stolen from a Bilinga address on January 21 and the registration plates had also been reported stolen.
A local woman said on social media she was woken by a “horrible noise” around the time of the crash.
Emergency services remained on scene into the morning.
