Firefighters are monitoring a blaze in partially inaccessible bushland on the northern Gold Coast which is expected to burn for several days.
Close to a dozen crews battled late into Sunday evening to control the fire which broke out just after 4.30pm along Rowe Lane, Cedar Creek.
A Queensland Fire Department (QFD) spokeswoman said about two acres of bushland was alight when emergency services first arrived on scene.
Firefighter conducted a backburn overnight – a controlled process which involves burning bushland ahead of the fire – effectively containing it.
The QFD spokeswoman said drones were used to survey the area which will provide a clearer picture on how much land has been burnt.
Firefighters were expected to return to the area about 8am on Monday to continue patrols.
There is currently no threat to homes or property and no warnings have been issued.
Residents in the area are advised to stay up to date with the latest QFD information and monitor conditions.
