‘Burleigh is FBoy central’: Reality stars dish on finding love on the Gold Coast

Reality TV contestants have revealed the Gold Coast suburb that is a hotspot for players and womanisers.
Krystal Thomas and Ally Woodfall, leading ladies in the recently premiered season two of FBoy Island on Binge, have dished on the reality of finding love on the Gold Coast, revealing Burleigh as ‘FBoy central’.
For the uninitiated, the term FBoy refers to a Lothario or a love rat (we’ll leave you to connect the dots).
Ms Thomas said that she joined the show because she felt like the dating world in real life “is so hard”.
“I don’t know what is going on at the moment, but everyone is so disposable, dating apps have kind of ruined love, essentially.
“I live in Burleigh too which is just FBoy central,” she said.
Ms Woodfall said the reason she joined the show was because it was unlike other dating shows.
“The style of the show is essentially about the girls and weeding out the FBoys and working together.
“Out of all the shows you could do, this was up the top for the ones that align with my morals and values,” Ms Woodfall said.
Hosted by media personality Abbie Chatfield, FBoy Island puts women to the test when it comes to working out who are the bad boys.
Throughout the series the boys are challenged to reveal their true colours with eliminated nice guys sent to retreat in ‘Nice Guy Grotto’ and the ousted FBoys exiled.
When asked how the show matched up to her expectations, Ms Thomas said it exceeded them.
“I just was like, I’m just going to put my heart in the line, just go in have fun, but also kind of be vulnerable and show emotion and then just be myself.
“Everything that you guys watch, everything you see, is so genuine. Every tear, every laughter, everything you see is so raw, every emotion is just so genuine, and it’s just a roller coaster,” she said.
Ms Woodfall said she didn’t go into the show with expectations and thought it would just be a fun experience.
“I kind of went in with my walls up but I think that as the season goes on, you’ll see them come down.
I really get among the experience and felt a lot more than I ever thought I was going to feel,” she said.
