Police have ruled the death of a 33-year-old man whose body was found on a Gold Coast AFL field as non-suspicious.
They were called to the Ormeau Bulldogs playing field off Upper Ormeau Rd at Kingsholme just after 5am on Monday where a member of the public had discovered the man.
“He was located unresponsive,” Gold Coast Acting Superintendent Jason Tuffley said on Monday.
“Upon QAS (Queensland Ambulance Service) arriving he was declared deceased.
“(I’m) not aware of any injuries on him.”
On Tuesday a Queensland Police Service spokesman said they were no longer investigating.
“The death is confirmed as non-suspicious,” he said.
“A report will be prepared for the coroner.”
Acting Supt Tuffley had previously said the involvement of drugs was one line of inquiry, but a cause of death has not been made publicly available.
