A man has been dragged from his car and savagely beaten on the side of a busy Gold Coast road in broad daylight with police launching a manhunt for his attacker.

The 68-year-old victim was driving in a bronze coloured Nissan Navara along Binstead Way towards the motorway at Pacific Pines around 2.40pm on Tuesday.

“The driver of the Nissan Navara pulled over shortly after the roundabout to inspect his vehicle,” a Queensland Police Service spokesman said in a statement.

“Initial investigations indicate a man, wearing a white puffer jacket and riding an escooter, pulled the driver out of his vehicle and assaulted him.”

The driver was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition with cuts and bruising to his head.

Police are appealing for the e-scooter rider anyone in the area at the time of the incident, who may have relevant CCTV or dashcam footage, to come forward.
