Police have sent out a dire warning to motorbike riders after this week marked yet another fatality on Gold Coast roads.

A 21-year-old man tragically died after his Yamaha trail bike collided head-on with a tow truck on Franklin Drive, Mudgeeraba at about 5pm on Thursday.

Paramedics rushed to the scene and transported the motorcyclist to Gold Coast University Hospital with critical injuries.

He sadly died in hospital.

The 41-year-old Robina tow truck driver was not injured in the crash.

The Forensic Crash Unit is still investigating the circumstances of the crash.

Mudgeeraba residents who were driving past the horrific scene said they saw “puddles of blood and a wrecked bike”.

Kristy Stankowski commented on a Facebook post, saying she witnessed paramedics giving the 21-year-old CPR.

“Thoughts go out to all the people involved,” Michael McDonald commented.

“I didn’t want to rubber neck on my way past.

“We were stationary in traffic as the ambulance arrived and I could see someone giving CPR. Out of respect I didn’t look any closer.”

A police spokesman said six of the 15 fatal incidents on the Gold Coast this year resulted in the death of a motorcyclist.

“Gold Coast police are calling on the community to take immediate action to reduce the risk of further tragedy,” the statement said.

“Riders are reminded to obey speed limits, wear proper protective hear and ride responsibly.

“Safety starts with you..”

The statement said police were continuing targeted patrols and enforcement to ensure riders comply with road rules.

It comes four months after 25-year-old Gold Coast man, Kiesharn Brown died in hospital after a motorbike crash in Paradise Point.

In February a 72-year-old Surfers Paradise man died after his motorbike veered off Nerang-Murwillumbah Rd.
