Alleged hoon loses control and crashes through fence on the Gold Coast

An alleged teen hoon has been handed a destructive dose of karma – losing control and smashing through the fence of a Gold Coast home – landing him in trouble with the law.

In a video filmed by a Varsity Lakes resident of the April 6 incident a silver Holden Commodore can be seen spinning its tyres and loudly revving its engine at an intersection on Greville Dr.

The vehicle does two circles – burning rubber and letting off smoke before turning into Coolibah St – where it all starts to go wrong.

The sedan mounts a grass verge, ploughing head-on through a timber fence and continuing down an embankment where it comes to rest in a backyard.

“It (car) was that loud – you couldn’t bloody miss it,” a neighbour, who has asked not to be identified due to safety concerns, told the Bulletin.
“One o’clock on a Sunday afternoon, I was more annoyed with the noise. I p***ed myself laughing when I saw the crash. What a turkey!”

In a statement a Queensland Police Service (QPS) spokesman said officers were called to attend the address following the crash.

“It will be alleged the vehicle was being driven dangerously,” the QPS spokesman said.

“Police have charged a 16-year-old Varsity Lakes boy with dangerous operation of a vehicle, driving of motor vehicle without a driver's licence (Never held licence), vehicles used on roads must be registered and drive uninsured.”

The boy is due to face Southport Childrens Court on May 19.
