GFL Stats Round 3: Giant, Supersaint lead ball winners

The Tiger recorded a match-high 28 disposals in the win over Grovedale, as well as collecting seven marks, five clearances, three tackles, seven inside 50s and three goals.

The two Tiger teams had an interesting battle in the ruck, with stars Ryan Abbott and Zach Zdybel two of the competition’s premier big men.

Abbott recorded a season-high 65 hit outs in the win, while Zdybel had 22 hit outs to go with 17 touches and a goal.

Geelong West and St Albans had a high-possession affair despite a 99-point differential between the teams.

Giant Ethan Liddle and Supersaint Fletcher Keck both recorded 38 touches each, while Tanner Lovell had 33 touches and Jacob Russell had 34.

The St Albans captain Russell recorded 16 contested possessions from his 34 touches.

Newtown & Chilwell star Ned Harris continues to dominate the early part of the season, recording 31 disposals and nine clearances in the close victory over South Barwon.

He was the leading ball winner on the ground, and also recorded 19 contested possessions and kicked a goal in a best-on-ground performance.

Teammate Blake Sutterby was also strong, with 29 touches and six clearances, working in tandem with Harris through the midfield.

South Barwon concerningly only recorded eight tackles for the match, while having 57 less disposals than the Eagles.
