Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Drake Geelong’s most listened
Taylor Swift has conquered Geelong’s airwaves while an unexpected album choice sets the region apart from national music trends, new Spotify data shows.
The globe’s biggest pop star has also dominated Geelong’s playlists as streaming giant Spotify released its end-of-year rundown of our region’s listening habits.
Spotify’s annual “Wrapped” breakdown landed on Thursday morning, lifting the lid on Geelong’s most played artists in 2025.
Taylor Swift, coming off the release of her album The Life Of A Showgirl, was the city’s No. 1 choice, with fellow North American performers rounding out the top five – Billie Eilish, Canadian rapper Drake, Sabrina Carpenter and hip-hop star Kendrick Lamar.
Carpenter’s hit album Short n’ Sweet was the most listened to for Pivotonians, ahead of K-Pop Demon Hunters, music from the animated Netflix film of the same name.
You’ll Be Alright Kid (Chapter 1) by Alex Warren and The Secret of Us by Gracie Abrams were next on the list.
Warren’s ballad Ordinary was the most listened to individual song, followed by Abrams’ earworm That’s So True.
American singer-songwriter sombr’s Back to Friends came in third, and his track Undressed fifth. Eilish’s Birds of a Feather was No.4.
Geelong’s results fell largely in line with trends across the country, with Swift the nation’s top artist and Warren’s Ordinary the top song.
Among Australian artists, the Wiggles were crowned as No. 1 nationally, with The Kid LAROI coming in second.
Vance Joy’s 2013 hit Riptide showed impressive longevity as the most-listened-to Australian song, with Crowded House’s 1986 classic Don’t Dream It’s Over second.
Australian podcast Casefile True Crime was the fourth-most-listened-to podcast worldwide.
