Developers have unveiled plans to bulldoze a Corio home to make way for seven new double-storey units.
A planning application lodged with the City of Greater Geelong by Melbourne-based group Planning and Design has revealed the bid to knock down an existing home on Donax Rd, and replace it with the larger housing development.
The seven new double-storey units would include two double-bedroom dwellings and five three-bedroom homes, in the 1252sq m site, according to planning documents.
The $1.3m project is described as “medium density” by the applicants.”
The proposed development of four new dwellings is appropriate to the location and is similar in mass and scale to recent and future developments in the area,” planning documents noted.
“The proposal will have a positive impact on the streetscape character of the area and will provide a high level of on site amenities for future residents.
“The design intent is to achieve affordable and yet quality housing accommodation targeted at smaller households.
“The proposal presents well designed, contemporary two storey dwellings.”
The planning application will remain open for public comment until February 25.
