The 24-year-old Corio man was assaulted and shot before making his way home in the early hours of Monday morning.

Emergency services were called to Browallia Dve about 2.10am following reports a man had sustained a gunshot wound to the lower body.

He was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

“Investigators are keen to speak to anyone with any information on the incident, or who might have been in the area at the time and has CCTV or dashcam footage.”

Officers believe the shooting was targeted and that the parties involved are known to each other.

It’s believed the man was injured elsewhere and returned home to seek assistance.

It is not known how, why or where the assault occurred.
