Police allegedly assaulted, hit by car in Grovedale
A man and a woman will front court on Tuesday after allegedly stealing two cars and driving at police officers in Grovedale.

A man and a woman have been charged after threepolice officers were allegedly assaulted in Grovedale on Monday.
Officers were called to Barwarre Rd in Armstrong Creek about 9.20am after a grey Ford Ranger and a trailer were allegedly stolen from the property.
Police caught sight of the Ford, driving in convoy with an allegedly stolen black Subaru Liberty, on the Surf Coast Highway a short time later.
Officers attempted to intercept the Ranger on Peter St in Grovedale before the Subaru allegedly drove directly at police.
A male senior constable was struck by the vehicle and was treated at the scene.
“During the arrest, two more police officers were assaulted and sustained minor injuries,” a police spokesman said.
“They were taken to hospital for treatment.”
A 28-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman were arrested at the scene.
The Ararat man has been charged with aggravated intentional exposure of police officer to risk by driving, assault, theft of motor vehicle and resisting police.
The Norlane woman has been charged with aggravated intentional exposure of police officer to risk by driving, theft of motor vehicle, assault, resisting police and drug offences.
The pair have been remanded to face Geelong Magistrates Court today.
A resident on Peter St, who was one of the first people on scene, said he heard a loud bang and went outside to see what happened.
“It was loud when they hit, but after that they were saying ‘we are the police, it’s all good’,” he said.
“I went out and the cop was asking for help because they’d got one person (arrested) on the floor, but the person was still in the car.
“They were trying to stop her from starting the car again.
“I grabbed her arm ‘cause they were asking for help and she was just trying to start the car.
“The police got here about a minute later and then I walked away.”
