A husband and wife duo have unveiled plans for a new tattoo parlour in Ocean Grove.
Chris Jones and Kim Pinney have lodged plans with the City of Greater Geelong to open a new store on Sinclair St in Ocean Grove, across from the Kingston Shopping Centre.
The space would be made up of separate artists drawing areas and a lounge, tattooing area, bathrooms, as well as an office space.
A planning report revealed plans to transform the once-vacant shed into a thriving hub for the peninsula’s creatives.
“The front building has been vacant for over a year,” the planning application read.
“The proposed location would be shared with an already established business – Gondwana Horticulture – who reside in the rear building on the property.”
Mr Jones and Ms Pinney started up Ocean Grove Tattoo in 2021.
It’s understood the business would emblazon its logo on the front of the building, and create a drought-tolerant garden with seating.
Customers and staff would have access to six car spaces in front of the store, and another seven along an eastern boundary fence.
Before and after photos revealed plans to completely transform the interior of the store, adding insulation and overhauling the flooring.
While the area is zoned industrial, Mr Jones and Ms Pinney submitted there were already a number of creative businesses close by.
“Currently within the industrial estate, there are several artist studios, yoga, architecture practices, cafes, breweries, op shops and gyms,” the report read.
“We believe we are a good fit with many creative and like minded people.”
