Trolleys full of rubbish, including suitcases and clothing, have been illegally dumped in North Geelong.

Nine trolleys were left at a park on Baxter Rd, which backs onto a block of residential units.

The trolleys, spotted on Friday afternoon, were filled with supermarket shopping baskets, takeaway pizza boxes and item of clothings.

Plastic bottles, empty cans and discarded vapes were also dumped.

Residents took to social media to express their outrage, labelling the people who dumped the rubbish as “pigs” and the behaviour as “disgraceful”.

“Some people are pure scum,” one man wrote.

“People are pigs,” another commented.

“This is pathetic,” a third said.

In January this year, about 400m up the road from the dumped trolleys, a pile of rubbish was left at the Geelong Arena.

Wooden furniture, children’s toys and a plastic washing basket was dumped on one side of the stadium’s main carpark.

A City of Greater Geelong spokeswoman said council is aware of the dumped rubbish and the matter is being investigated.

“The rubbish will be cleaned up as soon as the investigation is completed,” the spokeswoman said.

“We urge everyone to consider the impact of rubbish dumping on the environment and the community.”

Geelong residents can access two free hard waste and two free mattress collections each financial year.

Waste can also be dropped off to resource recovery centres in Douro Street, North Geelong and Becks Road, Drysdale.
