A man has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a school bus carrying students near the Christian College in Highton on Tuesday morning.

A man has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a bus near Christian College in Highton on Tuesday morning.

Paramedics rushed to the middle school on Burdekin Rd at about 7.40am to treat the 42-year-old, who was then taken by ambulance to Geelong hospital.

An Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman said he had suffered lower body injuries and was in a stable condition.

It’s understood a school bus carrying students collided with the man.

The driver and passengers were not injured.

Leading Senior Constable Jody Clayton said the exact circumstances surrounding the crash were unclear and an investigation was underway.

Christian College has five campuses across Geelong, the Bellarine Peninsula and Surf Coast.

The school has been contacted for comment.
