The region’s self-proclaimed biggest Foo Fighters fan, Jessica Hunter, cannot wait to see the US band rock Geelong, if their rumoured March gig comes to fruition.

Ms Hunter has been a “mega fan” of the Dave Grohl fronted band since 1997 and has been to every Foo Fighters concert in Melbourne since 2000.

The Belmont woman said she event attended the band’s 2011 AAMI Park show two nights in a row.

If the Foo Fighter’s do come to Geelong Ms Hunter said she would be attend with her eight-year-old son Lucas.

“I will do anything I can to try and get a ticket,” Ms Hunter said.

Ms hunter said Lucas was born to the soundtrack of the Foo Fighters, including the very fitting 1999 hit song Breakout and is now an emerging fan.

“One of the first things I ever bought for him was a Dave onesie, it’s like a Mr Men onesie but it’s Mr Grohl,” Hunter said.

The Foo Fighters have been a staple in Ms Hunter’s life.

The band’s 1997 hit Everlong played as she walked into her wedding reception and their 2005 song Best of You was her fight song during her battle with cancer last year.

“It’s got that lyric in it, ‘I’ll never give up’, and going through chemo it would pump me up, and also make me cry because I wasn’t going to let it beat me,” she said.
