Hamilton Highway closed westbound after two vehicle collisions

Emergency services are diverting traffic on the Hamilton Highway after two crashes in quick succession.

All westbound lanes of the Hamilton Highway are closed in Fyansford after two crashes on Tuesday morning.

It is understood one vehicle was involved in an incident, before traffic slowed and another smash occurred close by between two other vehicles.

A CFA spokesman said three units, alongside Fire Rescue Victoria, responded to reports of an incident about 8.30am.

“Units responded from Geelong West and Stonehaven,” he said.

“Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria were on scene.

“Crews discovered an incident with three motor vehicles involved.

“Incident was deemed under control at 8.51am.”

An Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman said paramedics attended the incidents and one person was taken to Geelong hospital.

Emergency services are diverting traffic near Fyansford-Gheringhap Rd and motorists are advised to allow extra travel time and avoid the area if possible.
