UPDATE: A young girl has been released from Geelong hospital following a near-drowning accident in a pool at a popular beachside holiday destination.
Paramedics were called to the BIG4 Anglesea Holiday Park about 10am on Saturday after the girl, 10, found herself in difficulty at the Murray Road resort.
An Ambulance Victoria spokesman said the primary school aged girl was treated at the scene and taken by road ambulance to Geelong in a stable condition.
“Paramedics were called to a report of a possible drowning,” he said.
BIG4 Angleasea owner Tim Bone, who also owns Bellarine Holiday Parks, told the Geelong Advertiser the incident took place in the pool and involved an international family.
“The girl is fine and she was released from hospital yesterday afternoon,” he said.
