Renowned Geelong physiotherapist Travis McCombe was honoured at a funeral service at GMHBA Stadium on Monday.
McCombe died suddenly from a medical episode on his 53rd birthday last month while on a remote island of Papua New Guinea, the country he grew up and treasured.
He was survived by his sons Finn and Marley, daughter Sammy and wife Kelli.
Voted as Geelong’s number one physio by this masthead, McCombe was described as an “artistic, kind, gentle, stoic man” by his wife Kelli.
McCombe helped Richmond No.1 draft pick Sam Lalor through a string of injury setbacks this year in his physio role with Geelong Grammar and played a pivotal role in helping
He was beloved by his clients at Belmont Physiotherapy Centre.
McCombe worked with a host of sports people in the past and spent a season with Geelong in AFL in 2008.
