The Fisherman’s Pier restaurant has been transformed into a film set with shooting of the Amazon Original film Foe underway this week.
Cast and crew arrived at the waterfront restaurant on Tuesday and filming of the science fiction thriller is expected to continue on Wednesday.
Set in the future, the Foe storyline centres on a young married couple, played by Saoirse Ronan, and Paul Mescal of Stan series Normal People fame, who live on an isolated farm.
Their lives are abruptly changed when a stranger knocks on their door and reveals Mescal’s character has been selected to travel to an experimental space station orbiting earth.
Filming of the movie, directed by Garth Davis, started last month.
Geelong was the scene for much of the big-budget action film The Whistleblower, which was released in 2019.
