Pro-Palestine supporters have covered Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles’ Geelong office in red paint overnight, meant to symbolise “blood of children”.
“Stop arming Israel” and “river of blood on your hands Marles” were spelt out across the Corio MP’s Yarra St office.
Red paint was splashed on the front and side of the building.
A police spokeswoman said officers became aware of the graffiti about 7am on Thursday and the matter was being investigated.
As of 8am, the building was cordoned off with police tape and two officers were guarding the area.
Mr Marles said he was aware of the protest activity at his office.
“My first concern is always for the safety and wellbeing of my staff,” he said.
In November, pro-Palestine supporters stormed Mr Marles’ Brougham St office and chained themselves to his reception area using bike locks.
Corangamite MP Libby Coker’s office in Armstrong Creek was defaced by pro-Palestine supporters last week.
“Many people throughout our community are in mourning and have strong feelings regarding what is happening in the Middle East,” Ms Coker.
“I appreciate and support the right to protest peacefully, however, the vandalism of property and intimidation of my staff is not the solution to the ongoing conflict.”
