The time has come to vote for Geelong's best dance teacher of 2023.

The time has come to cast your vote for who is Geelong’s best dance teacher in 2023, ahead of an inaugural dance festival next month.

The Geelong Advertiser put out a call for community nominations for favourite dance teachers in the region.

Now the nominations are in, and the 20 finalists have been named.

Nominees range from teachers at DanceWorks Geelong, Geelong Dance Company, Cheer Geelong, and Karen Feldman’s Dance Studio, to a Zumba intructor who teachers at Vines Road Community Centre.

Choose your pick from the list below before voting closes on August 17.

The winner will be announced on August 18.

The vote will conclude ahead of a Victorian regional dance festival, The Big Dance, presented by KF Dance.

Running for one day in September, The Big Dance will aim to connect regional dancers together to share their passion.

Industry professionals will lead a series of workshops through the day, with the festival concluding with an afternoon disco.

The festival will take place during the first week of term 3 school holidays, on September 20 at Geelong Sports Hub in South Geelong.

There will be programs for toddlers, primary-aged students, secondary-aged students, and all-abilities.

1. We put out an initial call for nominations over a two-day period. This happens on our various social media accounts as well as on our website.

2. After nominations close we open the voting stage on our website. The businesses or individuals that received the highest number of nominations will progress to the voting stage. The voting stage runs for one week.

3. Once voting has closed a winner will be announced on our website usually a few days after the voting stage concludes. At the same time we will also announce up to nine other businesses with the highest amount of votes in the poll.
