Emergency services were called to Bacchus Marsh Rd near the intersection with Frys Rd about 6.20am on Wednesday.

Paramedics and multiple ambulances were on scene, an Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman said three people were taken to Geelong hospital.

A State Emergency Services spokeswoman said at least two cars were involved in the collision.

Three people were able to be removed from their vehicles, however another person was trapped in their vehicle for at least 50 minutes.

The Vic Roads website warned commuters to stay away from the area in the morning.

“Use Heales Road and Melbourne Road as an alternative.”

The road was reopened at 8.46am.
