Dramatic scenes unfolded on Friday afternoon when a jury delivered its verdict after an emotional three-week murder trial in the Supreme Court.

Ashley Roy Feetham, 25, was found guilty of murdering Dylan Bond and intentionally causing injury to Heath Bond on April 26, 2021 at Thomson.

A family member of the victims fainted outside court, while a man was also thrown out of court for contempt.

Feetham sat looking forward as the foreman handed down the 12-person jury’s verdict.

As the foreman announced Feetham had been found guilty on one count of a murder, a man seated in the public gallery screamed “yes”.

Justice Stephen Kaye, who had warned the public gallery to “keep your peace” and show “proper respect to the jury”, snapped back.

“That’s enough,” he bellowed to the man who yelled out.

“You get out, you’re in contempt of court.”

The man was ordered to leave the court as Feetham, sitting in the dock and wearing a black collared shirt, sat with his head bowed.

Loved ones of the victim passed around tissues and leaned over the balustrade of the public gallery to get a look at the convicted murderer.

Feetham largely kept his head down, but looked up as the judge thanked the jury for its service, noting there was “no winners in this case, a shocking tragedy”.

While Feetham, who had been on bail, was taken away by custody officers, another man yelled out “f***ing dog”.

Outside the court, a young woman collapsed on the ground of the courtyard in tears and had to be helped up by supporters.

Throughout the course of the trial, the court heard Heath Bond was engaged to Abbey Sexton, but ended their relationship because he believed she was emotionally cheating on him with Feetham.

Several weeks later, Heath Bond met up with his former partner at a nightclub in the early hours of April 25.

Feetham, who was now seeing Ms Sexton, intervened and a physical altercation broke out between to the men.

The next day, Feetham messaged Dylan Bond, as he had heard he was not happy about the altercation and the messages quickly became heated.

After messaging Dylan Bond at 2.54pm, Feetham sent a message to him that read, “you do realise there are kids there and I will have no remorse in chucking you in your own boot”.

Crown prosecutor Mark Gibson told the jury, the prosecution believed Feetham welcomed the opportunity for a physical confrontation with Heath Bond.

The court heard Dylan and Heath Bond went to the Thomson home at about 3.14pm.

Shortly afterwards, Dylan Bond was stabbed to death and Heath Bond was seriously injured.

Feetham was remanded in custody and will next front court on November 6 for a plea hearing.
