Colac spearhead Adam Garner sits clearly on top of the GFNL goalkicking list and was also the clear leader in round 10 according to Premier Data.

The dominant key forward took the mickey against St Albans, producing one of the best statlines of the season in Geelong local footy: eight goals, three behinds, 33 disposals, 18 score involvements, 17 contested possessions, 16 marks (six contested) and 223 Premier Data ranking points.

It takes his goalkicking tally to 43 for the season, 13 ahead of St Joseph’s big man Paddy De Grandi and joint 2023 Mathieson medallist Fraser Fort.

Plenty of his Colac teammates got in on the act, with prolific ruckman Zach Zdybel tallying 22 disposals, 15 score involvements, two goals and 171 points, Ryan Monaghan registering 35 disposals, 10 clearances, seven marks, a goal and 165 points and Dustin Walters booting four goals to go with 23 disposals, 10 marks, four goals and 157 points.

Luke Hillman also hit the scoreboard in a big way with 7.2 along with 16 disposals and 100 points.

It was a similar story in St Mary’s 139-point win over North Shore where Harry McMahon kicked six goals from 23 disposals and scored 156 points, with Harry Benson having another monster afternoon with 37 disposals, 17 contested possessions, nine inside 50s, nine clearances and 186 points.

Seagulls ball-magnet Nathan Arbon had a truckload of the footy in their loss finishing with a whopping 48 disposals, 15 contested possessions, 13 marks and 153 points, while Brayden Ham (36 disposals, 10 marks, two goals and 143 points) had plenty of it on the outside for the Saints.

Lara defender Dan Weigl finished as the third-ranked performer of the round with 30 disposals, 13 marks, eight tackles and 172 points, while Lachie Patten (30 disposals, six tackles, a goal and 141 points) and Ben Worme (26 disposals, seven clearances, a goal and 127 points) led the way in the engine room for the Dragons.

Geelong VFL player and former Richmond listed Tiger Kaelan Bradtke had a major impact up forward in his second game for Bell Park with 19 disposals, nine marks, five goals and 118 points.

His Cats teammate Tanner Lovell had a typically productive performance in Geelong West’s loss to St Joseph’s on Sunday, gathering 40 disposals, 25 contested possessions, 14 inside 50s, 10 clearances and 161 points, combining with Werribee VFL midfielder Emmanuel Ajang (26 disposals, 12 contested, 10 inside 50s, nine clearances, a goal and 132 points).

Angus Humphrey (25 disposals, 11 marks, 137 points) and Olivier Northam (46 hitouts, 14 disposals, 10 contested, six tackles and 134 points) were the top-ranked performers for the Joeys.

Grovedale coach Jake Spolding lauded the performances of Mitch Chafer (19 disposals, 13 contested, four goals and 128 points) and former Geelong and St Kilda ruckman Ryan Abbott (48 hitouts, 14 disposals and 141 points) in their upset win over Newtown & Chillwell.

For the Eagles Will O’Dwyer (27 disposals, 10 clearances, nine tackles, a goal and 147 points) and Braden Hocking (24 disposals, 12 marks and 136 points) impressed in the loss.

It was a fairly even spread for Leopold in its convincing victory over South Barwon in the GFNL grand final rematch, with Marcus Thompson finishing with 29 disposals, 13 contested, eight tackles, seven inside 50s and 147 points and Brock Williamson recording 23 disposals, eight inside 50s, eight marks, three goals and 136 points.
