What a year it was for Corio superstar Joel Bennett.

Bennett led all comers across the competition this year for disposals, kicks, inside 50s, clearances, goal assists, score involvements and ranking points.

In all he averaged a staggering 33.6 disposals, 26.8 kicks, 8.9 score involvements, 7.2 tackles, 7.8 clearances, 8.1 inside 50s, 14.8 contested possessions, 2.3 goals, 1.5 goal assists and 162.4 Premier Data ranking points.

Joel Bennett had a massive year for Corio.

That’s some pretty handy numbers in a side that finished 10th on the GDFL ladder.

He was also the favourite with the umpires, receiving 21 more free kicks than the next best player – but that’s probably because he was always the first one getting it off the deck.

And when you’re getting the Sherrin so much you’re bound to turn it over. He also finished with the most turnovers of any player.

But that shouldn’t take any gloss off his enormous achievements this year, with the main highlight being his herculean performance in round 14 where he amassed 50 disposals, 40 kicks, 20 contested possessions, 12 rebound 50s, eight clearances and 235 ranking points.
