Ricky Olarenshaw’s estranged wife has been accused of having a “profit share” arrangement in an alleged “Bali brothel” that has been linked to the former footballer.

Saranitha Olarenshaw’s lawyers attempted to have the case against her thrown out of Bali’s Denpasar District Court on Monday.

But Balinese police opposed the move saying that they had documents and witness statements that linked her to the Flame Spa, which they claimed offered sexual services.

Saranitha has alleged that she was only a name on the paperwork for Olarenshaw, who she accused of masterminding the plan to turn the spa into a brothel.

It comes as Ricky’s sister-in-law confirmed the couple’s nine-year-old daughter knew that her mother was in court but had not visited her in the cells at Bali’s police station.

Tiari Bintang said outside court that Saranitha’s mental health was “being tested’.

Ms Bintang said that it was “not good” for Saranitha’s daughter to visit her.

When asked if Olarenshaw had tried to take the couple’s daughter to Australia, Ms Bintang said: “I can not comment about it.”

Saranitha’s lawyer, Edyanto Silalahi, said outside court that the police did not have evidence that the Flame Spa was operating as a brothel.

“There is no evidence that shows there was pornography and prostitution in Flame Spa,” he said in a translated interview.

“In our opinion, there is a mistake conducted by the police. That’s why we need to test it through the court.”

He also claimed that Olarenshaw and his business partners used Saranitha and her co accused Ni Made Purnami Sari as the registered owners on the Flame Spa paperwork to get around Indonesia’s foreign ownership rules.

“They were only workers there, they were misused as many foreigners here tried to get profit from it.

“To invest as foreign investment, they need to get many permits, and need quite a big amount of money. So they use local people. Our people are victims”

But Bali police dismissed the claims, saying they had evidence that Saranitha had a “profit share” agreement for the Flame Spa.

Imam Ismail, a lawyer representing Bali Police said that everything had been done by the book.

“What the police have done has been based on procedure,” he said.

“Police have named them as suspects according to procedure, so it is legal.

“Police have also fulfilled the evidence based on the criminal code. And before police name them as suspects, they have been interrogated as witnesses.”

Mr Ismail said that police “witness statements and documents, including letters that show the company ownership and profit share.”

“All the documents have shown that the two suspects officially owned the company,” he said.

Olarenshaw had separated from Saranitha in the months leading up to her arrests.

One of his associates had threatened to use Australian businessman Michael Le Grand to dob her into the police if she did not hand over money.

Le Grand and his wife Lynley have now also been charged with running a brothel out of the Pink Palace Spa in Seminyak, Bali.

Their case remains before the courts.

Olarenshaw did not return calls on Monday.
