After two decades, one of Dreamworld’s most iconic rides has thrilled riders for the last time. Find out what’s in store to take its place.

Dreamworld's The Claw closes after 20 years, to be replaced by King Claw

For the last 20 years, no trip to Dreamworld was complete without a turn on The Claw for many adrenaline junkies.

However, all good things must come to an end, with the iconic ride taking its last turn on Tuesday morning, January 28.

“It’s really exciting – a little bit sad because we’re closing The Claw after just over 20 years of service” Dreamworld chief executive Greg Yong said on Tuesday morning.

The ride is closing to make way for King Claw, which promises to be even bigger and better.

“It’ll be 50 per cent taller, 50 per cent faster than the current claw, so we just cannot wait to get it here at Dreamworld,” Mr Yong said.

King Claw will tower at 27 metres tall, and will be the largest gyro swing in the Southern Hemisphere.

Mr Yong said construction on the new ride would start as soon as The Claw’s final turn was complete, and would be ready to swing park guests to new heights by late 2025.
