A craft beer bar, dumpling restaurant and Korean fried chicken eatery will open at Marvel Stadium as the ground is transformed into Australia’s best food and drink sporting venue.
Upscale dumpling restaurant Lee Ho Fook, cult Melbourne eatery Gami Chicken, bar Crafter Glow and UK vego store Dirty Beats will open within weeks in a bid to lure more diners to the stadium.
A build-you-own deluxe burger joint and self-serve lolly shops will also be unveiled at the AFL owned venue, with clubs to be briefed on the changes tomorrow.
In a win for fans, a price freeze will be announced on popular footy food such as pies, hot chips, hot dogs and coffee when the AFL season bounces into action next month.
Stadium spokesman Michael Green said the overhaul would give fans unprecedented access to world-class culinary options.
“Lee Ho Fook is going to be a great addition to the Docklands, since it will be open on Thursday and Friday, allowing punters to get a look at the stadium on a non-event day which is an experience in itself,’’ he said.
“The stadium has become an all-round entertainment experience now – there’s so much for families to do before and after games and the new dining options will be part of that.’’
The new restaurants are under construction and will open to the public in time for round one.
Lee Ho Fook will open a former Medallion Club space to the public and include a cocktail bar.
Lolly shop The Sweeter Life will boast roof-high plastic tubes loaded with sweets, self-serve slushie and popcorn machines and ice cream.
A deluxe, made to order burger bar called Prime Burger will also be unveiled, along with a “Four Pines” bar on level three that takes the number of food and beverage outlets at the venue to 13.
And Dirty Beets will be brought in from Wembley Arena in London with an entirely vegetarian menu, catering to increasing demand for plant-based diets.

Mr Green confirmed a price freeze on traditional stadium food with stadium keeping pie, chip, water and coffee prices the same for four years.
“We’ll always offer the tried and true game day experience of sitting in your seat with a trusty pie … but now we’re expanding the stadium’s food options to cater to a broader section of the market,” he said.
