But that hasn’t stopped Melbourne’s Ben Simmons from taking his shot at courting Kendall Jenner.

Hoping to buck the trend which has seen countless men’s careers stall and personal lives crumble after time spent on a Kardashian’s arm, NBA Rookie of the Year frontrunner Simmons has been spotted squiring the second-youngest Kardashian beauty about town.

It’s a risky move.

Already, fans of Simmons’ Philadelphia 76ers have expressed concern the player will be too busy “hanging out at Nobu with Jenner” to spend time on his jumpshot.

“I do not want them (the Kardashians) anywhere near my team,” one fan lamented on YouTube.

“This is a disaster for the 6ers. It’s the Kardashian curse … I hope this is just an off-season summer fling.”

Another added: “We know Kendall Jenner doesn’t date anyone more than a month. She dated (basketballers) Jordan Clarkson, she dated Blake Griffin and now she’s on to Ben Simmons.

“This girl is going through the whole league.”

Certainly, Jenner is on the record admitting to have an “embarrassing basketball “obsession”.

So, too, do Jenner’s elder sisters, Kim and Khloe Kardashian, whose high-profile romances with basketballers have made headlines for all the wrong reasons.

Khloe’s quickie marriage to Lamar Odom became a nice little earner for the clan, with the duo starring in a spin-off series to Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

But their relationship hit the skids because of his drug problems. After the couple split, Odom overdosed in a Nevada brothel. He’s never been quite the same.

Khloe has since taken up with Cleveland player Tristan Thompson who left his pregnant partner for the TV star.

But there’s been no happily ever after for Khloe here either, as Tristan was caught cheating — twice — while the buxom star was heavily pregnant. His reputation is in tatters.

And who could forget Kimmy K’s blink-and-you’ll-miss-it marriage to Kris Humphries? Kim realised she had made a huge mistake marrying the mediocre basketballer within days of tying the knot in a lavish TV wedding.

Sadly for the embittered Humphries, his notoriety as a Kardashian spouse — short-lived though it was — eclipsed any success he had on the court.

He slipped into obscurity while Kim’s fame only grew when she quickly took up with Kanye West.

The sullen rapper is easily the most famous of the Kardashian men and one of the few to remain in the picture.

He, however, has been plagued by mental health problems and is constantly the subject of scandal thanks to his feud with Taylor Swift and use of a photo of Whitney Houston’s squalid bathroom on an album cover.

It doesn’t end there. Kourtney’s baby daddy, Scott Disick, has made no secret of his alcoholism.

Kylie’s relationship with the rapper Tyga bolstered his profile but was mired in controversy because of the age difference between them.

The most notable thing he’s done since their 2017 split was find himself the subject of a nude photo leak. The pictures were shared by a porn star.

Even Kris’ ex-husband, Bruce — now known as Caitlyn — hasn’t escaped the long Kardashian shadow.

The transgender star says she is lonely now that she is estranged from most of her children because of her tell-all about their mother, Kris.

The only male sibling, Robert, is also on the outer.

He has battled weight problems and is in the midst of a messy custody battle with the mother of his only child, Blac Chyna.

Let’s hope Simmons’ affair with Jenner isn’t such a Kar-crash.
