The two-day season is already off to a whirlwind of a start with a record equalling performance by a PINT duo.

The first weekend of Two-Day action in 2025 has already produced outlandish scenes.

On Saturday, May 31 out at Tracy Village Oval, the one-day champions and hosts, Tracy, were smacked around the park by PINT’s number three and four.

Fresh off a disappointing one-day campaign, PINT clearly came into the clash with a point to prove, and that they did.

The Village got off to a quick start, dismissing PINT opener Noah MacDonald for a duck in the first over.

PINT captain and first drop Connor Poulton (136) then came to the crease and got to work.

Poulton made 47 runs before his opener fell at the end of the 21st over.

In at number four, Kiwi batter Chander Ravi (178) then put on an absolute masterclass.

The duo were unflappable at the crease, causing mass headaches for the home side.

Poulton and Ravi put on a monster 228 run partnership – allegedly tying the all-time modern record – before Poulton was finally caught in the 66th.

Ravi continued his charge scoring a further 43 runs without Poulton before also being caught in the 76th.

“Having a lot of time to bat is something I feel comfortable with and something I enjoy a lot,” Poulton recounted afterwards.

“It was great conditions for it as well, the pitch was very suited for batting, and obviously a beautiful day weather wise just aided batting conditions, so it was a day that we knew we had to capitalise on.

“I was speaking to Chander after the game and we were saying that it was the best partnership that we had both been apart of in our careers thus far.”

PINT ended its inning with an imposing 431 run total, with the second day of play to resume Saturday 7.

Elsewhere, Waratah were unable to post a big total falling for 198 runs against Darwin.

Lachlan Biggs was the Tah’s best with the bat scoring 80 runs off 106 balls.

Out at Cazalys Oval, reigning champions Palmerston were able to keep Southern Districts quiet, restricting the Crocs to 179 all out.

Perennial wicket-taker Hamish Martin was the pick of the lot, snagging a five’fa.

The left arm spinner finished with figures of 5/73 from his colossal 32.4 over effort.
