Two car crash on Kennedy Highway in Kuranda, delays expected
Three people are being treated after a two-car crash on the Kennedy Highway which brought down a traffic light.

One person has been taken to Cairns Hospital and two others were being treated at the scene of a two-car collision, which reportedly brought down a set of traffic lights at an intersection in Kuranda.
Emergency services were called to Fallon Rd intersection on the Kennedy Hwy just after 9am on Wednesday, January 8.
A spokesman for Queensland Ambulance Service said three patients had been treated at the scene.
“We assessed three patients, one declined transport and one has been transported to hospital,” he said.
At the time of this reporting, paramedics were still on scene, treating the third patient.
Queensland Fire Department said they left the scene with Queensland police about 10.40am who were assisting with traffic control.
“Our crews left the scene with police as a traffic light pole was on the ground,” he said.
Authorities confirmed traffic in all directions was impacted and motorists should “proceed with caution”.
Queensland Traffic FNNQ said the highway was closed due to a “multi-vehicle crash”.
“All lanes are reduced in all directions, delays expected, proceed with caution.”
As of 12pm on Wednesday, December 8 traffic had been updated by authorities to a “cleared” status.
