Teenager in life-threatening condition after Tolga motorcycle crash

A teenager is in a potentially life-threatening condition following a two-vehicle crash in Tolga, emergency services have confirmed.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman confirmed crews were assessing a teenage male with a potential head injury after a two-motorcycle crash on a Fillopo Close property at 4.38pm on Thursday afternoon.

“It looks to be a two motorcycle crash. One of (the patients) is a male potentially in mid-teens,” the spokeswoman said.

“That patient looks to be in potentially life-threatening condition with a head injury.”

He was rushed to Atherton hospital with significant head injuries.

The spokeswoman confirmed a second patient was being assessed, however no injuries had yet been reported.

It comes after a separate incident in Cape Tribulation following reports of a vehicle trapped in the water at Imogen Creek, on The Cape Tribulation Bloomfield Road.

“Looks like there was a vehicle trapped in the water with multiple people inside but they were able to self extricate and since moved on from that scene,” the spokeswoman said.

“We didn’t need to make any transport.”

A Queensland Fire Department spokesman confirmed locals had helped the vehicle’s occupants after the incident.

“Locals have assisted and they’re making their way back to the ferry,” the spokesman said.
