Wining, dining and celebrity line-ups are on the menu at the Far North’s popular food festival, Taste Port Douglas, to run from August 8 to August 11.
The three-day food and drink festival will feature some of the finest produce the Far North, and the nation, has to offer.
Taste Port Douglas director Reina Patrick said she was excited to present a stellar line up of chefs and culinary leaders from across the nation while highlighting the Far North’s local talent.
“Food-wise we’re obviously trying to highlight local produce as much as possible, especially the seafood side of things as we partner with local fisheries and producers to get our hands on the best and freshest,” Ms Patrick said.
The festival will host a line up of celebrity chef lunches and dinners, masterclasses and cocktail soirees across Port Douglas, with chef-led activations throughout Cairns venues.
“We’re looking at great producers from all over the country to run alongside local producers to give them a great platform to showcase their stuff with some of the best chefs in Australia,” she said.
Local distilleries would also be on display with the Taste spirit selection to focus on local producers.
“We don’t have wineries up here but we have distilleries and breweries and we do them very well,” Ms Patrick said.
Taste Port Douglas is currently seeking expressions of interest from local vendors to take part in Festival Village on Sunday, August 10.
General tickets to the festival, with options for transport between Cairns to Port Douglas, will be available at the end of April.
