A 22-year-old Mooroobool man has been charged with multiple drug offences following a police raid at a unit complex in Far North Queensland.

Police said a search was conducted at a property on Sandown Close in Woree on May 22, where officers allegedly uncovered a large quantity of cannabis and more than $71,000 in cash.

A Queensland Police spokesman said several other items believed to be linked to drug trafficking were also seized during the operation.

“A large quantity of packaged cannabis, along with more than $71,000 in cash, multiple mobile phones, iPads, laptops, drug paraphernalia, and cannabis seeds,” the spokesman said.

The man was charged with one count of trafficking in dangerous drugs, four counts of supplying dangerous drugs, and one count each of possessing dangerous drugs exceeding schedule 3, possessing property suspected of being the proceeds of drug trafficking, possessing property connected to a drug offence, and possessing drug utensils.

He is scheduled to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on June 6.
